MADRID – MY FAVOURITE PLACE ON EARTH
Madrid is a place that you may write about and write endlessly. It has become the love of my life and I gave my heart to it senselessly. Two years ago I went there to do my marketing internship (here you might read about it more in details). To be honest I was a little bit disappointed that I couldn’t undertake it in Italy. This is why I became so sceptic about this whole fuss about the city.
I arrived in Madrid on the 1st of July, in the middle of the weather hell – with the temperature reaching 40 degrees. In the night time the temperature fluctated around 30 degrees Celsius which basically made me wonder if I’m going to survive this adventure.
However, the weather become the only disadvantage of this amazing city and after a couple of months one can get used to those temperatures. All the other things that you may witness in Madrid are definitely awesome.
WHY IS MADRID MY FAVOURITE CAPITAL CITY?
THE LIFE GOES BY THE MOST VIVIDLY AT NIGHT
I really fancy the magic of this part of day basically because there are so many things happening then. It doesn’t matter how old are you – people of different age are present on the streets all day and night long. It is quite normal that your roommate coaxes you to grab a beer in the midnight and that you come back from this simple meeting at 3.
THERE IS NO PLACE FOR BOREDOM
There are 21 barrios (districts) and depending on what you’re looking for you will find there everything you need and prefer. Doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of arts, a foodie, history-addict, a raver or romantic lover of breathtaking sunsets – Madrid offers it all.
SAFETY COMES FIRST
The only danger I had to fear were pickpockets. I perceive Madrid as one of the most safe cities. I have visited many places and to be honest, I guess that because it isn’t such a touristic location as Barcelona, it remains on the top of the most peacefull European capital cities. To be honest, Madrid comes to life during night time. Of course there are places that probably should be avoided, but still the city seems more safe than other metropolis – going on a walk at 2 a.m. became totally normal.
YOU’LL NEVER HAVE ENOUGH
While living here I’ve never felt as if I was spending my time in one of the biggest European cities. I simply forgot about pressure or rush – most popular qualities of big agglomerations. Madrid is filled with green spaces and its citizens are so kind and open. It is a place of nature and relaxation with a breathtaking architecture.
BREATHTAKING ARCHITECTURE
This place has made realise how much I value architecture and the beauty of art. Earlier it wasn’t a subject of my interest and I didn’t pay much attention to it. I fell in love with nature, islands, sandy beaches but the architecture of Madrid took my breath away.
THE CITY WHERE SUN GOES DOWN
Do you enjoy witnessing amazing sunsets? Undoubtedly, Madrid offers some breathtaking places located on the hills where you may see one of the most beautiful sundowns on the earth.
POSITIVE VIBES ONLY

AMAZING PEOPLE
There is a whole variety of foreigners there – students and workers, however, they’ve never destroyed the spanish spirit of Madrid. Despite having so many cultures there, you not only feel like at home but you also witness Spain in all its glory. It doesn’t matter if you live there temporarily or permanently – talking to people of Madrid will always amuse you.
I hope I convinced you to visit Madrid – new post will show you some detailed tips of what to see, where to go and where to eat! Like my fanpage and stay tuned!
